The Challenge This Year
In the past we've collected many of our toys from businesses in our community through our toy barrel program, however, the pandemic has altered how we need to operate this year and we cannot accept outside gifts.
On top of what our amazing community members traditionally donate to us, we have a long-standing partnerships with a few other charitable organizations like The Family Giving Tree, Turning Wheels for Kids, and the Milpitas Food Bank. These organizations graciously supplement our program with toys, bicycles, and food so that our families can receive a good selection of gifts and all of the ingredients for a holiday meal.
However, this year is proving to be challenging for charities for a few reasons:
- Charities are receiving fewer donations.
- The need for help is increasing
- Resources are stretched thinner than ever
Our Solution
This year we have a goal in mind to collect $20,000, which would allow us to distribute $30 in gifts to each child we serve.
Year after year our greatest reward is seeing the familiar faces of families that rely on us to make a magical holiday morning happen. Our history of success in this mission is a result of our community’s giving spirit and compassion for others going through difficult times.
